Click here to schedule a notarial appointment.

On the day of your appointment:

  • Bring the complete, unsigned documents to be notarized.  Even if there are pages that do not require signature or seals, you must present the entire packet.
  • Present a valid government-issued ID such as a passport or driver’s license.  The name on the documents must be the same as the name on your ID.
  • Pay $50 per notary seal.
  • Be of sound mind and understand the document you want notarized.  Consular staff is not permitted to explain contents to you.
  • If your notary service requires a witness, you must arrange for your own witnesses.  Consular staff cannot witness your documents.

Notarial Overview

Notarial services are for all nationalities and are by appointment only.  U.S. consular officers may perform notarial acts for use in the United States only, with few exceptions (Turkish residency and marriage).  If your document is for use in Türkiye, obtain a notarial service locally.  If you have multiple documents to be notarized, you should only make one appointment.  The fee is $50 for each notary seal required.

If you are experiencing an emergency which requires a notarial service, please use the Contact Us link to email us with details about your request and information on which documents you seek authentication.

Information on the Hague Apostille Convention can be found at the State Department’s website.

You may pay by cash (exact change) or credit card in dollars or the Turkish lira equivalent at the Embassy/Consulate, our rate might be different then the local rate.  Credit cards will only be accepted if the card holder is present.  We do not accept Turkish debit cards or checks.
