Security Alert – Exercise Increased Caution in the Region
Event: Due to increased regional tensions, the Department of State advises U.S. citizens to exercise increased caution. Historically, similar tensions have resulted in travel disruptions and increased security concerns for U.S. citizens in the region. U.S. citizens should:
- Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive information and alerts and make it easier to locate you in an emergency overseas.
- Prepare a plan for emergency situations. Review the Traveler’s Checklist.
- Follow the Department of State on Facebook and Twitter/X and visit travel.state.gov.
